One might like him or not but composer-turned-actor GV Prakash Kumar is fast rising as one of the promising actors of Kollywood. With a clutch of films already in his kitty, he is on a signing spree with the latest one being a crime-thriller by filmmaker Bala. Interestingly, Prakash plays the lead but will be seen in a role with negative shades. Although Bala and Prakash have worked earlier in the former’s critically-acclaimed 'Naan Kadavul' which had music by Prakash, this is the first time they’re collaborating as director and actor.
“Prakash is thrilled to be part of the project. When he got a call from Bala’s office, he didn’t expect an acting offer. He assumed Bala wanted him to come onboard as the film’s composer but when he knows he wanted him to play the lead, his excitement knew no leaps and bounds,” a source close to Prakash said.
Prakash will share screen space with Jyotika, who will be seen playing a cop in the film. Jyotika walked out of Vijay 61 to sign this project and that has surprised everybody in the industry.
Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has been signed on to take care of the music department, while the rest of the cast and crew are being finalized.
