Rumours and debates over who should be the next 007 have been nonstop for years, as has Craig's frequent hints about calling it quits. After much rumors and speculation, Daniel Craig has made it official - He’ll be returning for another movie as James Bond. Craig confirmed the news that had been widely expected during his appearance on Tuesday’s edition of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
It'll be the British actor’s 5th Bond film, after 'Casino Royale', 'Quantum of Solace', 'Skyfall', and 'Spectre'. The next installment will be the 25th in the franchise and is due to be released in US cinemas on November 8, 2019. Asked if it would be his last run as the celebrated spy, Craig said, “I think this is it, I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”
In 2015, he famously said he would rather "slash my wrists" than make another Bond movie, a comment he later explained as a kind of joke from the fatigue of just completing one. Craig took over from Pierce Brosnan starting with 2006’s 'Casino Royale', then returned for 'Quantum of Solace' in 2008. The last Bond film, 'Spectre,' grossed $880 million worldwide in 2015, while 'Skyfall' brought in a hefty $1.1 billion in 2012.
