Makers of the much-awaited film ‘2.0’ had recently announced that the sci-fi actioner would be releasing in April. Though they haven’t revealed the exact release date of the film, the word in movie circles is that it could be April 27. According to the earlier release plan of the producers of ‘2.0’; the Shankar directorial was to hit the screens on January 26. But, the release was postponed for reasons yet to be made clear by them.
However, a recent update from among those closely following the movie indicates that a Hollywood VFX company could be behind the delay in the film’s release. It is said that a major goof up by the VFX firm forced Lyca Productions, the production house of ‘2.0’, to reschedule the release. It is also heard that the producers have pulled out their assigned work from the firm. Sources also suggest that Lyca Productions is planning to file a lawsuit against the VFX company, saying that they did not fulfill contractual obligations.
Whatever the reasons might be, the delay in the release of ‘2.0’ has disappointed fans of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. The actioner, which also has Amy Jackson in a pivotal role, features music from AR Rahman.
