Superstar Mahesh signed a two-film deal with PVP Cinemas a few years ago and had starred in their production venture 'Bhramotsavam'. However, he did not honor the commitment and refused to star in the second film as per the deal. The star also went ahead to give his dates to producers Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt to produce his 25th film. This naturally did not go down too well with PVP, following which the producer filed a petition at the Madras High Court claiming damages for breach of his intellectual property rights.
In the petition, the complainant had mentioned that the production house spent Rs. 4 crores on the project before it went to the other producers. The matter came up for hearing recently and it was adjourned to July 5th. In the meantime, it looks like all the parties to the suit are in for an out of court settlement. Sources in the know say that Dil Raju and Ashwini Dutt have agreed to take in PVP as one of the producers for Mahesh Babu’s upcoming 25th film.
This legal battle has been going on since November 2016 and will finally come to an end with an amicable settlement between the parties. According to sources, there is an oral consensus between the parties and the deal will be signed soon. With this, all legal issues pertaining to Mahesh Babu’s 25th film will come to an end.
Mahesh Babu’s last outing was Bharath Ane Nenu which hit the silver screens on April 27th this year. The film was a grand success. Yet to be titled, his 25th film will be directed by Vamsi Paidapally. The filmmakers are shelling out a huge budget for this project. The film went on the floors in Dehradun where it’ll be shot for the next two weeks. Mahesh sports a new look for the film and it is likely to hit the silver screens early next year.
